-  Ans.  Lefferts was born in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, just north of the southern German border.  Tyrol or Tyrolia is the name of the region of the ancient kingdom which would now occupy modern Austria.  [Mostly used in the adjective form, “tyrolian alps”.]  His father was a US Air Force officer.  The family moved to Sacramento, Japan, Topeka, Cape Cod & San Diego before settling in the Tampa Bay area.  Lefferts played for TEX in 1993.
