Hint: #1    He was the first Seattle Mariner to hit double figures triples in a season.

-   Ans. On 29-Apr-1986, Clemens struck out 20 Seattle Mariners.  4 of those belonged to Bradley, including the 20th.

-   #1   Had 10 3B in 1987, tied for 2nd in the AL that year.

-   #2   Future manager & broadcaster Buck Martinez had his leg broken on a play at the plate, while tagging out both runners on 09-Jul-1985.  Bradley, the first runner, bent Martinez’ R leg back, breaking it.  Gorman Thomas was the second out.  Watch it happen here.

-   Ans.      On 30-Apr-1944, Weintraub had 11 RBI as his NYG beat BRO 26-8.  He was the first of only 3 guys to score 5 R & have 10 RBI in a single game.  The other 2 were Walker Cooper (06-July-1949) and Anthony Rendon (30-April-2017).

-   #1   “Weintraub” is German for “wine grape”.

-   #2   In spring training 1934, Weintraub and Harry Danning were refused entry to the Flamingo Hotel in Miami Beach, which had a “No Jews” policy.  They were allowed to stay after NYG mgr Bill Terry threatened to take the whole team to another hotel if his Jewish ballplayers weren’t allowed.

-   #1   With a career of only 6 seasons, Knell hit 136 batters, 34th on the all-time list.  No other pitcher in the Top 100 has a few years in MLB.

-   #2   Bodie, a San Franciscan, was 18 years younger than Knell.

-   #1   Had 8 straight PH in 1958-59.

-   #2   Came to the plate 13 X total for the 2 G on 30-May-1950(1) & 30-May-1950(2) w/ 7&6 respectively.

-   Ans.     His 29 IBB in 1967 led MLB and tied the all-time NL mark co-held by Ron Northy (1944) and Pee Wee Reese (1947)..  McCovey had 45 just 2 years later in his MVP season of 1969.

-   #1   With CHC on 11-Jun-1967, in the 2nd G of a doubleheader, Phillips went over the ivy thrice in the Cubs' 18–10 W over NYM.  He had already homered once in the opener.  Rhodes replicated the feat on Opening Day 1994, tying George Bell for most HR in an Opening Day G.

-   #2   Highest rank is SB, where he ranks 6th among players born in Panama.

-   #3   Few members of that team escaped Manager Gene Mauch’s wrath, with Phillips getting more than his share.

-   #2   Grant sang "What a Wonderful World", shown here at Killebrew’s on-field memorial service at Target Field.

-   #3   Behind his fine singing talent, Grant created “Mudcat and the Kittens”, a song and dance act featuring himself as the lead singer backed up by some provocatively-clad young women dancers.  They played at nightclubs and hotels during the off-seasons and did quite well.  His combined MLB salaries for his 14-year career came to approximately $350,000.
